Valentine's Day in Ecuador
- Food
The Valentine's dinner is based on visiting luxury restaurants, so couples can enjoy this special day. Usually, fast food places are preferred or Mexican food restaurants. The Paseo por la Ronda provides several spaces to meet and sit down to eat. In addition, the shopping centers hold events with the participation of visitors giving away balloons, stuffed animals, chocolates or dinners in important restaurants in the city.
- Music
On Valentine's Day concerts and musical events are held in shopping centers, squares, parks, etc. Romantic music predominates because of the celebration. However, there are also groups of urban music, folklore and national music. Serenades are heard in all corners of the city and the clubs are very popular.
- Special Curiosities
On this day couples get married; this year around 500 couples got married. Couples exchange gifts like stuffed animals, chocolates, flowers, cosmetics, lingerie, balloons, etc. They visit special places such as the cinema, the squares, museums, theaters or they go on trips to enjoy in recognized tourist places.
Valentine's Day in South Korea
- Traditional Costumes
People usually visit places where Valentine's Day is being celebrated, where dances or events are presented in which they demonstrate the typical costumes of Korean culture to national and international tourists.
- Special Curiosities
Valentine's Day in South Korea is celebrated three days:
On February 14, women declare their love to the men they want; giving away chocolates, sweets or marshmallows.
On March 14, those men who received a gift or some candy must compensate the girl who gave them to them. It is called the White Day.
April 14 is the day of singleness, in which those who did not get a couple the previous days meet and celebrate. It is called the Black Day.
Valentine's Day in Wales
- Food
Valentine's Day presents different spaces for couples to come together to eat. People in Wales usually eat fish, seafood, meat, cockles (algae), soups, meatballs, etc.
- Special Curiosities
People in Wales do not celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14, but they do it on January 25 on "Saint Dwynwen's Day", the nation's patron. It is celebrated in honor of Dwynwen, the Welsh Saint of love so that date is the day of the San Dwynwen festival. The traditional gift of Valentine's Day in Wales is a spoon of love that, according to the design, can mean several things, like good luck, support, or the keys to the heart of a man.
Throughout Wales, children and adults write their letters to each other in a celebration of their love, or sometimes without a name in order to attract the other person in love.
